Chapman misses practice, leaves Yankees ALDS Roster
Yankees backup Arrodis Chapman ruled out by Yankees their roster for the American League Division Series against the Cleveland Guardians. According to manager Aaron Boone, Chapman was due for a live batting practice, but he missed it without an “acceptable excuse”.
Boone added that the Yankees are exploring disciplinary action against Chapman returning to Miami.
“He effectively excluded himself from at least this round of consideration,” said general manager Brian Cashman, “because obviously as a team, everyone in our network has Started exercising here and he decided not to show up. …you’ must be in every year this time to go all out. And disappointing. ”
Chapman, a longtime Yankees close, has struggled for much of the season, losing his ninth inning job to Clay Holmes and dealing with injuries, including a leg infection from a tattoo. Chapman appears to have corrected the boat somewhat, allowing only running on his seven outings in September.
