Los Angeles Chargers star Justin Herbert continues to impress in his third NFL season. “Herbert is probably the best quarterback in the league,” the veteran coach says, according to The Athletic Mike Sandow. “He crawled to the left,” the coach explained. “The tight end is a flat line, he turns the sideline and Herbert runs to his left at full speed. What you usually do is throw it over the top and see if the guy can get it. But the guard has good Coverage. So he threw the ball over his back shoulder. He ran a dead corner left and it was all improvisation and he just hit him. Incredible. The guy was so natural.”

The 24-year-old has already won the Pro Bowl and Offensive Rookie of the Year awards in his first two NFL seasons , passing for 9,350 yards, 69 touchdowns and 25 interceptions during the period. With his continued production starting in 2022, he has a serious argument to be the best quarterback in football.
