Benjamin Benedict, one of Germany’s leading producers of high-end TV dramas, has joined German mini-major Leonine Studios.
Effective November 1st, Benedict will join the management team of Leonine’s W&B Television, running the production team alongside Oliver Vogel, Max Wiedemann and Quirin Berg.
Benedict is currently the Managing Director of German TV giant UFA Fiction and his small screen success stories include period dramas Charite , Ku’Damm and International Emmy-winning miniseriesGeneration War ).
W&B TV, founded by The Lives of Others producers Wiedemann and Berg, produced cutting-edge series such as Netflix’s Mystery of Time and Space Dark , gangster thriller 4 Blocks for German TNT/Turner, and a crime suspense horror series in the sky Pagan Peak . The group is currently working on the Amazon Prime series The Gryphon , based on the fantasy bestseller by Wolfgang Hohlbein.
Leonine, which is owned by private equity giant KKR, has 2019 acquired W&B TV from Endemol Shine.
