Christian Siriano Debuts Plus-Size Menswear Red Carpet Designs at the 2023 Academy Awards

The Oscars are a firmly black-tie event. But, as actor Harvey Guillen illustrated tonight, that doesn’t mean actors always have to opt for the plain penguin suit. Puss in Boots The voice actor attended the ceremony in a custom Christian Siriano, a tuxedo featuring delightful twists. Guillen donned a black and silver brocade suit with an interesting surprise: The blazer cascaded into a flowing skirt, perfect for posing for the camera.

Guillen’s suit Guillen shared with E! that he wore it with sleek finger waves, representing the first time Christian Siriano has The red carpet created plus-size menswear looks, and he first made a name for himself through his full-size womenswear. Host Laverne Cox.

Guillen wasn’t the only star who gave a bold, fresh update to men’s black tie at the night’s awards show. (It seems like Timothée Chalamet’s go-to shirtless moment last year may have upped the ante.) Created by Adeam (another womenswear-first label), the actor describes it as “East meets West.” The standout detail of the garment? A gorgeous navy blue belt. Riz Ahmed showed off alluring skin in a blazer and shirt underneath.

This year, it looks like the guys will be bringing it their own way too.
