Christina Applegate's Nail Art Makes a Powerful Statement About Her MS Diagnosis

Some beauty notes are designed to convey information. For Christina Applegate, when she was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a manicure served as a vehicle to express her feelings about her multiple sclerosis diagnosis.

Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (or MS) at 2021 and joined The disease ranks close to 1 million people in the United States. MS causes the immune system to destroy the central nervous system, affecting the brain’s ability to send signals throughout the body. The disease is accompanied by a range of symptoms — including numbness, memory problems and paralysis — that vary from person to person. It occurs three times more often in women than in men.
