Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (or MS) at 2021 and joined The disease ranks close to 1 million people in the United States. MS causes the immune system to destroy the central nervous system, affecting the brain’s ability to send signals throughout the body. The disease is accompanied by a range of symptoms — including numbness, memory problems and paralysis — that vary from person to person. It occurs three times more often in women than in men.
“Today I celebrate your strength, your journey, your contribution to the arts and building a community that loves you,” wrote hairstylist Adir Abergel in a celebratory post . “Even after being diagnosed with MS, you show up for yourself and the people who love you.” For actors, it seems attitude is half the battle.
