CNN White House correspondent John Harwood said Friday that he is leaving the cable news channel.
“[L] looking forward to figuring out what’s coming next,” Harwood tweeted, noting that Friday would be his last day on the channel.
“We thank John for his coverage of the White House, and we wish him all the best,” a CNN spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter .
It is unclear what prompted them to leave.
Harwood joined CNN in January From CNBC, he was the Washington’s chief correspondent. On CNBC and CNN, Harwood is known for his sharp criticism of President Donald Trump and the Republican Party, which he called a “complete rupture” in 2019 .
Harwood is the second notable departure from CNN in recent weeks. Last month CNN cancelled Sunday show credible source and parted ways with its anchor CNN Chief Media Correspondent Brian Stelter.
After reliable cancellation, THR reports CNN staff nervous about possible future changes. Harwood is unlikely to be the last CNN reporter to leave in the coming months, with CNN Chief Executive Chris Licht seeking to overhaul some of the channel’s programming.
