CNN's new morning show title is a throwback to Chris Licht's CBS days

CNN hopes to launch new morning show ahead of November’s midterm elections.

A spokesperson for the cable channel said Wednesday that the new morning show, titled CNN This Morning, It will air on November 1st. Similar to CBS This Morning, this is the morning show that new CNN CEO Chris Licht helped launch a decade ago (the show is ) was recently renamed CBS Mornings).

CNN this morning will be anchored Created by Don Lemon, Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins, Lemon ditched his prime-time habitat and Collins left the White House for the show. Harlow had previously broken down an hour later in the morning.

The morning show was one of the first permanent lineup changes Licht made, he promised that the show would be Be the “disruptor” of Warner Bros. Discovery’s pre-May work. Takeover 9pm Alisyn Camerota and Laura Coates from 10 pm- This morning lineup will continue into the midterms, although they are seen internally as potential workout tools for Tapper, Camerota and Coates.

In both cases, CNN is banking on the expected viewership increase that the midterm elections will bring to raise awareness of the new show, though whether viewers will be after the news has died down will remain a problem for CNN.
