Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson test positive for COVID-19, will miss Critics' Choice Awards

Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson will not appear in this year’s Critics Choice Awards on schedule after COVID-28 tests positive Proceedings, Farrell’s rep confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter

This news was obtained at The Banshees of Actor and Best Supporting Actor nominee Inisherin star attended Tuesday’s Golden Globes, where Farrell took home Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical in the play.

The Searchlight Pictures film will enter the Critics’ Choice Awards with nine nominations . which included Farrell and Gleeson, as well as Barry Keoghan and Kerry Condon; Best Director and Best Screenplay, two honors each to writer-director Martin McDonagh; one for Best Picture; one for Best Ensemble Performance; and one of the best comedies.

Farrell and Gleeson aren’t the only nominees who will miss out on the awards after testing positive.

star Jamie Lee Curtis It was revealed on Friday that she also tested positive and would not be able to cheer on the cast and crew at the awards show.

The Best Supporting Actress nominee took to Instagram to express her frustration with her diagnosis. “Fucking COVID-19! Sadly, the cheerleader simply won’t be cheering on her friends and co-workers at the weekend festivities,” she captioned a photo of a triple-test positive. “Life in Life.”

Hosted by Chelsea Handler, 28th annual Critics’ Choice Awards will be held Sunday at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles and will air on The CW beginning at 7 p.m. ET. 1235281602
