Former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is now officially a father.
Kaepernick and his longtime girlfriend Nessa Diab announced on social media Sunday afternoon the birth of their first child.
“I thought about it for a long time and wanted to share News that changed our lives today. I decided to do this because today is the first day in a few weeks and I take on a new title in life – Mom!” Diab, an MTV host, is reporting on Sunday MTV Video Music Awards, he wrote.
” Colin and I welcomed our Pokémon to the world a few weeks ago and we rejoice with our growing family… Colin The most amazing father and I am so grateful that he was by our side every moment of this journey.”
Diab and Kaepernick reportedly started dating in 2015, saying they welcomed their baby “a few weeks ago” and promised to share more information soon.

Kaepernick is still a free agent and since he was basically blacklisted by the NFL Just didn’t play after he started protesting during the national anthem in the 2016 season. He has one. While that workout reportedly went well and Kaepernick is clearly still in “good” shape, he’s still not in the NFL lineup going into the season.
