Creative Arts Emmys: Laurie Metcalf and Nathan Lane honored for guest appearances in comedy series

Laurie Metcalf won Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role on HBO Actor Emmy Max’s Hacks, while Nathan Lane wins Outstanding Guest Actor Award for Hulu’s Comedy Series Only Murder in the House .

Metcalfe plays Jean Smart’s stand-up Debow in season two of HBO Max comedy series La Vance’s tour manager Weed. In the first season of the Hulu comedy, Lane played Teddy Dimas, who sponsored a podcast of the same name hosted by characters played by Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez.

This marks Metcalf’s fourth Emmy win, three years in a row for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series Roseanne (1994, 1994 and ). Throughout her career, she has been nominated for eight more Emmys.

Ryan, a seven-time nominee in the category, won his first Primetime Emmy. (He also has a pair of Daytime Emmys .)

Comedy Guest Actress Categories include Hacks’ Jane Adams, Harriet Sansom Harris and Kaitlin Olson; Only Murder in the Building Jane Lynch in Ted Lasso Harriet Walter (who was also in Succession nominated for a cameo role in).

Other nominations in the Comedy Guest Actor category include Curb Your Enthusiasm ‘s Bill Hader, Hacks’ Christopher McDonald, SNL’ Jarrod Carmichael and Ted Russo James Lance and Sam Richardson.

HBO Max’s Hacks leads comedy guest performance nominations, winning five in two categories nominate.
