What Oscar watchers should know about the results of Sunday night’s th Critics Choice Awards?
One school of thought says “not much” after all , the Critics Choice Awards are determined by the Critics Choice Association, an organization consisting of A number of broadcast, on-air and online critics and entertainment reporters primarily in the United States— — including, full disclosure, your real — and the Oscars are determined by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, which is run by some 10,10 People all over the world who actually work on films. But Frazier emerged victorious on Sunday and made the most of his moment in the spotlight.From the moment his name was called, he was visibly agitated (something voters noticed because They like to vote for people they think really appreciate their support), and leave a comment: He thanks Darren Arofnosky brought him back from the “wilderness” noting that “I spent…as subtly as possible reminding people that he has put in the time and that, unlike some of his competitors, he may never Another chance like this.
One thing to remember: the last seven 10 Best Actor Critics’ Choice winners went on to win corresponding Oscars – but three of those who didn’t Two, like Frazier, were the critics’ sentimental choices (Michael Keaton for Birdman and Chadwick Bo Sman for Ma Rainey’s black bottoms ) then in Lost at the Oscars to the non-emotional choice ( Eddie Redmayne for The Theory of Everything and Anthony Ho Pukins for father , respectively).

Although its heroine, Michelle Yeoh , Best Actress lost to Tár of Cate Blanchett , and the movie itself lost Best Ensemble and Best Comedy to Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery , which still won five Victory, three more than any other film. After winning Best Original Screenplay, Best Editing and Best Supporting Actor ( Quan Kehui ), it unexpectedly won Best Director (Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert , aka “Daniels”), at this point it is almost certain that it will It also won Best Picture.
Only five in the end 10 Best Picture Critics’ Choice Award winner has already received a corresponding Oscar (Boyhood,
La La Land
, Rome , Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and The Power of the Dog
and consistent with these numbers, I can see any of the Everything Everywhere in the Oscar for best picture.
Same as last year’s Academy Award Winner for Best Picture CODA (where , by the way, Critics’ Choice Award for Best Picture lost to The Power of the Dog ), There is an underdog aspect Everything Everywhere (an indie game that is unlikely to be a blockbuster) and the people involved (they have spent their entire careers both have faced adversity and still look cute) which makes it impossible to hold against them.
However, unlike CODA, Everything Everywhere is a challenging and polarizing film, which may cause it to have problems in the preferred (ranked choice) voting for Academy adoption best movie. This movie is worst on older people – they tend to get lost in the multiverse of it all – they still There is a disproportionate presence in the Academy. Everything Everywhere, what will it be used for? It’s hard to resist, and it’s hard for me to imagine anything or anyone ruining the trajectory of both at the Oscars.
4) Critics’ Choice Golden Globe Winner Tank
Less than a week after dominating the Golden Globes — another ceremony where journalists determine the winners — Banshee of Inisherin 0 out of 9 (plus both of its male stars are MIA due to COVID) and The Fabelmans 1 point Actor/Actress Award Gabriel Labelle ) at the Critics’ Choice Awards superior.

5) Attention RRR
RRR, period music from India The action-thriller that has proven to be a huge phenomenon worldwide has garnered an impressive of two reviews Home Choice Awards: Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for “Naatu Naatu,” which won a corresponding Golden Globe and helped the film win the Los Angeles Film Critics Circle Award for Best Music/Score.

Does this mean that RRR will not only be nominated for best original song , will also be nominated for Best Picture and Best Director, like the Critics’ Choice Awards? of course not. But, especially since this film cannot be nominated for an Oscar for Best International Feature Film, if either Or both I wouldn’t be surprised those nominations ended up happening.
