Janelle Monáe will receive the SeeHer Award at the 28 Annual Critics’ Choice Awards , will be held at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles in January 17.
Mona, who won the Critics’ Choice Award Oscar Best Supporting Actress nomination Hidden Figures, also nominated for Best Supporting Actress this year for her performance in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Her other credits include Lionsgate’s Antebellum, Focus Features’ Harriet , Disney Lady and the Tramp , Amazon Homecoming and A 28 Oscar-winning Moonlight . In 2023, Monáe’s album Dirty Computer also Nominated for two Grammy Awards for Album of the Year and Best Music Video.
According to the Critics Choice Association, the SeeHer Award recognizes a woman who advocated for gender equality and whose character Be authentic, challenge stereotypes and push boundaries. Most recently, Monáe was named Suicide Prevention Advocate of the Year by The Trevor Project. She is also co-chair of the nonprofit When We All Vote and launched her Fem the Future initiative.
Past SeeHer winners include Viola Davis, Gal Gadot, Claire Foy, Kristen Bell, Zendaya and Halle Bay Rui.
Actor Jeff Bridges was also clicked to receive for life The Achievement Award will be presented at an upcoming awards ceremony.
The Critics’ Choice Awards will be broadcast live on The CW in January 17 from 7 – pm ET (delayed PT ). The show will be hosted by Chelsea Handler with Bob Bain Productions and Berlin Entertainment production executive.
