Here is a summary of topics discussed or issues raised. Timestamps aren’t always available because our conversations tend to be very fluid and bounce back and forth a lot. As always, I hope you enjoy listening to this show as much as we enjoyed recording it.

  • Fighter pay has been the hottest topic for the past two weeks as Luke Lockhold’s relationship with the UFC and Dana is completely scorched. Talk about your thoughts on what Luke said, especially the part where he mentioned that Dana was basically given the reins of running the UFC as he saw fit.
  • us This has been talked about before, but Luke Lockhold’s comment still raises the theory that things are much better fighters under Fertittas. Is it them or that pile of smoke and mirrors?
  • Luke mentioned leverage and how the UFC has it all. How do fighters gain influence outside of some kind of solidarity movement/strike etc? Is there anything else they can do to take advantage of themselves, I’m talking about fighters from entry level all the way to championship level.
  • Ariel recently invited Sean O’Malley and you can’t watch that interview if you don’t come away thinking Sean has done 180. I see on your timeline that you agree with some of the things Ariel said. Can you elaborate for our audience what you agree with and what you think about O’Malley’s review.
  • Paul Costa says he only made $35,000 for Vitori’s game. I was completely stunned when I saw it. Paul is 11-2 and has been in contention for the title. How in the world could something like this happen?
  • You have the opportunity to view several UFC contracts. Do they all have built-in escalators? Like this is standard for all contracts or only for those who are savvy enough to ask for it?
  • The infamous Dana White vs. MMA Media is back recently, and I saw your comment that didn’t mention that the boxer had to let go of gross negligence on the UFC side to return to the Octagon. Please explain in details.
  • Another hot topic is provisional titles. Give your opinion on whether they are good, bad, or both.
  • What do you think of James Krause’s official UFC betting show while actively training fighters?
  • One Championship debuts tonight on Amazon Prime. I can’t help but notice that there isn’t a big enough hashtag trend to even show up in sports trends, let alone a major part of Twitter. What are the instructions, or am I reading too much?
  • I saw that they recently transferred all their shares to an entity in Grand Cayman and basically re-registered there. Please explain what re-registration means and why this is important.
  • Oleksandr Usyk is on track to be boxing’s highest-paid fighter this year. How did he do that?
  • Deontay Wilder says boxing isn’t really a sport, it’s just a business. Do you agree with his assessment?
  • It is almost a foregone conclusion that Saudi Arabia will get Fury-Usyk. Is it really any good for them to keep pouring huge sums of money into the sports world?
