Damian Lewis will play two vampires instead of one in upcoming supernatural black comedy The Radleys , based on Matt Hague’s novel and a film that sees the Emmy and Golden Globe winner with his Dream Horse director Oros Lynn (recently behind the Netflix hit Heartstoppers ).
Featured in Cornerstone Films Coming Soon to the US Film Market , by Genesius Pictures, by Debbie Gray (Good Luck to You Leo Grande Produced), Lewis also executive produces through his company Ginger Biscuit Entertainment. It also marks the latest collaboration between Cornerstone and Genesius, who most recently collaborated on the Sundance hit Good Luck to You Leo Grande , currently producing The Iceman , also a partner of Australian production and distribution company The Reset Collective.
Based on a script developed by British Comedy Award winner and beloved British talk show Joe Brand ( Go ahead, the more you ignore I ) and by Talitha Stevenson (Late Summer), The Radleys about a seemingly ordinary family with a dark secret that even the neighbors don’t know: They’re vampires. Only parents Helen and Peter (Lewis) know the true nature of the family. They are “abstainers”, vampires who choose not to drink blood despite an innate craving. Their teenagers, vegan Clara and lovesick Rowan, until one night when Clara is attacked by a boy in her class, her bloodthirsty instincts take over, forcing her parents to finally reveal the truth.
With this revelation, Rowan questions his identity. With the arrival of Uncle Will (Lewis), Peter’s twin brother and the vampire, the temptation to try his first blood taste intensifies, and he pulls back the curtain on his vampire hedonism and free life. Will is so swaggering and sexy that his presence takes the entire family off their axis and unleashes pent-up desires for parents and teens.
Filming will start in the UK in May 2023.
