CBS has sent out a pilot for its 1235319809- first comedy project order broadcast season.
The network has selected an untitled multi-cam comedy starring Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr. The project will feature former Last Man Standing showrunner Kevin Hency and senior of the Wayans duo.
Potential series produced in-house by CBS Studios, revolving around legendary talk radio host and happily divorced “Poppa” (Wayans), whose views are challenged on the job Hired A new hostess, at home, finds himself still raising his grown son (Waynes Jr.), a brilliant dreamer and a burden while trying to pursue his passion. Responsible father and husband.
Vice President of Production Kameron Tarlow will also oversee the series for Two Shakes Entertainment, the production company he co-founded with Wayans Jr., based at CBS Studios under an overall agreement.
This is CBS’s first comedy pilot order of the season. Under new President of Entertainment Amy Reisenbach, the network already airs Matlock (starring Kathy Bates) and The Good Fight offshoot Elsbeth (starring Carrie Preston). After developing the project last season, the network has picked up TV series The Never Game starring Justin Hartley . Expect more comedy pilot orders in the coming weeks.
