UFC president Dana White accused former middleweight champion Luke Lockhold of ‘suppressing the sport’ ‘ then responded.
Rockhold (16-5 MMA) will end his three-year hiatus tomorrow night at UFC 278 when he faces perennial middleweight contender Paul Costa.
Ahead of the fight as tomorrow night’s co-main attraction, Luke Lockhold has been outspoken about his concerns about fighter pay, health care and multiple other issues involving his employer Disappointment of the problem. In addition, the propaganda former middleweight champion accused UFC president Dana White of “suppressing the sport” of MMA.
“These guys don’t know what they’re doing, they let Dana (White) just run the show and suppress the sport. They need to grow. Whole This damn thing needs to grow together,” Rockhold said at UFC 278 Media Day. “Our lives are in danger. Healthcare needs to be taken care of. Our fucking health needs to be taken care of. Mine is not taken care of. You know what I mean?”

These comments were not ignored by Dana White, who responded in a recent interview with TSN:
“It’s something we’ve been doing since day one,” White said (h/t MMAJunkie). “These guys are well taken care of when they’re fighting here, so is Luke Rockhold.”
Despite being slapped twice after a knockout loss to Jan Blachowicz Scheduled to fight at UFC 239 in July 2019, Luke Rochhold has yet to return to the Octagon. Injuries forced him out of scheduled matches against Chris Weidman and Sean Strickland, but according to Dana White, the former champion’s medical care is guaranteed.

“Luke Rockhold is dealing with him here The problems encountered were surpassed,” White said. “I don’t care what health insurance plan you have, when Luke Rockhold went through his thing, they would never cover what we covered for him. Everything he said was absolute fucking bullshit and absolute gibberish.”
White continued:
“Everyone fighting here has received incredible medical treatment Health care. Incredible health care. I mean, we don’t even sew people up to regular doctors. If it’s bad enough, we’ll send them to plastic surgeons to sew them up.”
