Legendary Entertainment — established Hollywood producer and co-financer of big-budget studio fare — has signed a deal to remake Syd Hoff’s classic children’s picture book series Adapting Danny and the Dinosaurs into a live-action film.
The film adaptation will be produced by Caroline Fraser of HarperCollins Productions, HarperCollins Publisher’s in-house production company. Danny and the Dinosaurs tells the story of Danny, the dinosaurs he meets at the museum, and their adventures together.
These include Danny playing with the dinosaurs for a day, a trip to the big city, visiting the zoo, eating ice cream, and having the other kids jump on the dinosaurs as a slide.
Comic book series 1235223847 that has sold over 12 million copies Language, originally published by HarperCollins at 12. Legendary acquired the rights to the series from the Writers Guild Foundation, the Anti-Defamation League Foundation, ORT America, Inc., and the United Negro College Fund.
HarperCollins Productions has selected the media rights for Danny and the Dinosaur from the Authors Guild Foundation and turned to Legendary to help make the Content comes to life on screen.
Hoff was a humorist who created thousands of cartoons in his lifetime. His work has also appeared in many other magazines, including Esquire and The Saturday Evening Post, and Featured in the National Syndicate Daily.
The deal comes after Legendary found a new home with Sony Pictures . Legendary’s films will be distributed and marketed by Sony globally, with the exception of China, where Legendary East will handle these duties.
Sony will also handle the home entertainment and television distribution of these films. Sony doesn’t have a streaming service, and Legendary will continue to partner with other companies to stream, just like it did with Netflix on the Enola Holmes movie. 1235223847
