Dave Chappell at Saturday Night Live The opening monologue on deals with Kanye “Ye” West’s anti-Semitic rhetoric, as well as Donald Trump and the midterm elections.

His monologue begins with reading a letter he prepared denouncing anti-Semitism, claiming: “Kanye, this is how you buy yourself time.” He continued. , after using the word “Jew”, he never heard of anyone doing good things, and joked that West thought he was untouchable until Adidas dropped him after his comments.

While discussing the midterm elections, the comedian mostly focused on Herschel Walker and how some news organizations felt the Trump era was over, but he claimed it wasn’t. He went on to explain that living in Ohio, he witnessed Trump’s fan base firsthand, and said “he was popular. He was loved because people in Ohio never met someone like him.

Chappelle also made fun of Kyrie Irving, who was recently suspended by the Brooklyn Nets for at least five games after sharing a link to the documentary Burroughs to Blacks: Awakening Black America – A film that contains anti-Semitic sentiments.

“He was slow to apologize,” the host said of the NBA star. “The demands to regain their goodwill are getting longer, and that’s where I draw the line: I know Jews do some horrible things all over the world, but you can’t blame black Americans for that. You just can’t.”

Before the opening monologue, the cold opening has a segment from Fox & Friends, by Mikey Day, Heidi Gardner Starring Bowen Yang, Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt and Brian Kilmeade respectively, with Cecily Strong’s Kari Lake and James Austin Johnson’s Trump also making special appearances.

Black star was the musical guest, and the comedian joked that it would be “such a dark episode , it will be on BET.”
