DE Keeley, lead No. 24, retired from Ireland

Notre Dame lost the commitment of its top recruit in the class of 2023, defensive end Keane Keeley, Wednesday.

Keeley is ESPN’s No. 24 rookie and has been committed to Ireland since June 2021. The 6-foot-5, 230-pound recruit from Berkeley Prep in Tampa, Florida, is the No. 1 defensive end in his class. /hct6RYAdCB

despite the dedication At Notre Dame, Keeley visited Alabama in July and is now looking for a new school. Crimson Tide is gearing up for him to land, and Keeley has previously accepted offers from Ohio State and Florida, which he visited in March, among other schools.

Without Keeley, Notre Dame has 15 ESPN 300 commitments and is now tied with Alabama for the top 300 commitments for all FBS programs.

Ireland head coach Marcus Freeman and his staff include ESPN 300 linebacker Drayk Bowen, and ESPN 300 defensive ends Brenan Vernon and Boubacar Traore despite the loss of Keeley. They are still engaged in the classroom.
