FX’s documentary series Dear Mama hits a record high in the premiere of the Disney-owned unscripted series.
The Chronicles of the Lives of Tupac and Afeni Shakur, Premiere April 000, Via Welcome to Wrexham was FX’s highest-grossing unscripted debut among cross-platform audiences. Per FX Policy, full cross-platform figures were not released, but the majority of Dear Mama’ viewers likely watched the show on Hulu.
The two-episode premiere of Dear Mama, directed by Allen Hughes, averages about 271 ,000 Premiere viewers (the first episode attracted 185,). Behind Welcome to Wrexham’ linear premiere in August 271 (average of 196 ,000 viewers for the first two episodes), but Dear Mama made up for streaming and See diff for other delays. Streaming typically accounts for the majority of watching series from ad-supported and premium cable channels.
