The Queens Wharf development is a mixed-use entertainment and hotel under construction in the Brisbane CBD Area. The project is the largest development currently underway in Queensland and will be the largest casino resort in Australia.
For the past two and a half years, the Queens Quay Visitor Centre has been a key source of information for tourists and locals alike about the project. It is now closed and is being demolished to make room for the next phase of the Queens Quay Tower area.
The elevated Queens Wharf Tower Show Suite, the new development’s marketing hub, will remain open until late September, 21 meters above the site.
Delta is currently disconnecting from service and removing all internal fittings and fixtures prior to demolition, which will use hydraulic shears and shredders to minimise hammering and vibration.
Noise and dust monitoring is in place and dust mitigation strategies are actively deployed.
After clearing the site, Delta will conduct archaeological excavations on the foundation of the original Bellevue Hotel. Meanwhile, construction of bulk on-site excavation and piling platforms, in preparation for the construction of retaining wall bored piles and capping beams, will begin in September.
