Demetrius Johnson has named the only UFC champion he believes has the best chance of breaking a defensive record.
The Mighty Mouse does hold the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history.
Johnson, 36, (30-4 MMA), currently competing in ONE Championship after leaving the UFC in 2018.
During his tenure with the UFC, the flyweight legend secured his legacy as one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time.

During the period 2012-2017, Demetrius Demetrious Johnson sat on the 125-pound throne and refuted his 11-challenge to the domination of the likes of John Dodson, Joseph Benavidez, Kyoji Horiguchi and Henry Cejudo.
While speaking with Danny Segura of “MMA Junkie,” Johnson discussed who he thinks has the best chance of breaking his record:
“Look what happened to Kamaru Usman. I really thought he was going to be the gentleman who broke my longest streak defense. I put him on that list and he would Break it.”
And of course Kamaru Usman (20-2 MMA) who was last Saturday night at UFC 278 Leon Edwards (20-3 MMA) knocked out his opponent in the welterweight main event.

loses his title and therefore removes him (Usman) from the race Middle Elimination, Johnson goes on to say who he believes can break his record, continues (h/t MMANews):
“I think Valentina Shevchenko would break it just because she was leaping ahead of her competitors. I also don’t think the talent pool for women’s mixed martial arts is that big. It’s not that deep. She’s just light years above people. “
Valentina Shevchenko (23-3 MMA) is currently on a 9-game winning streak. The 34-year-old “Bullet” recently defeated Tyra Santos (19-2 MMA) at UFC 275 in June. Best change to break his defensive record?
