This time, photographers are invited to conduct research around the theme of “
Past & Present”, focusing on how to make images Its features and challenges have changed over the past years. May 4th is the last day for the open call for applications .
Images that will be selected will be displayed alongside work from the Der Greif archives, with the aim of creating a dialogue between past contributors and the work of emerging artists. Selected images will be organized in three display formats: the first, “Joxex”, which focuses on the evolution of photography over time, with specific attention to each image, and the second, “Slides and Sound”, an immersive A sensory experience of its place, accompanied by images of live music, a third form, ‘contextualization’, requires visitors to interact with the exhibition through curated displays.
The main presentation of the selected images will be at the Munich fair on June th – Outth in collaboration with Pinakothek der Moderne and ZIRKA.
“Contextualization” will take place at the Pinakothek der Moderne. The collaboration is part of the Painting Gallery’s current exhibition “Mashup,” featuring live poems and poetry readings by poetry editors Mira Mann and Angela Aux. There will also be a special day for the children.
ZIRKA will present “Slides and Sounds”, Enji and Zylva will perform live and Alex Rita and Errol will do the DJ set (Touching Bass, London).
“Slides & Sounds” will be screened at the annual evening of Les Rencontres de la Photographie in Arles on July 8th with Buro Stedelijk at From September 21st – 21 invisible in Amsterdam 25 and more .
In addition to the open call, Der Grief is marking this important occasion with the unveiling of the new website dergreif.org. With an online archive of articles, artist profiles and guest rooms, the new site provides users with an easier interactive experience.
until May 25 Der Greif will accept “ Common Love ” Open Call #16 Guest Edited by Artist Shirin Neshat. The title of the open call refers to the poem Common Love by Persian poet Ahmad Schamlou: “I am a common pain, scream me!”.
