Derek Carr posted his farewell message to Raider Nation on Wednesday, seemingly confirming that Las Vegas has seen the final four David.
Carr, who was snubbed by Las Vegas late in the season and likely to be traded this offseason, tweeted An emotional farewell to the team he has called home since 2014.
“Raider Nation, this breaks my heart, I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye in person,” he wrote. “In the nine years we’ve been together, we’ve certainly been on a rollercoaster ride. … Saying goodbye was especially hard because I can honestly say that I’ve given you my all, every single day, whether it’s in the season It’s still in the off-season. It’s certainly not perfect, but I hope I can give you some good memories of being a Raider fan.”
Carr went on to point out that despite his previous statement “if I Not the Raiders, I’d rather stay home,” he said, still wanting to play in the league and win a Super Bowl.
“I’m looking forward to a new city and a new team to get everything I have no matter what the situation is. Winning titles is what I’ve always wanted and what I will continue to work on goals,” he wrote.
It was a dramatic end for Carr, who was beaten by Jarrett Stidham on Dec. came off the bench. Away to play the last two games of the season will not be a distraction.
On New Year’s Day, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that Las Vegas will begin exploring possible trade destinations for Carr during the offseason. While Carr has a no-trade clause in his contract and may be active in discussions, one thing is reportedly certain: The team is ready to move on from the former franchise quarterback.
