Mets right-hander Edwin Díaz was named National League savior of the month in August for his third straight win while the Guardians Right-hander Emmanuel Clase received American League honors for the second time this season.
Diaz was named rescuer of the month eight times (since 5 in AL and 3 in NL), the most of any pitcher since the award was established in 2017.
In 10 2/3 innings in August, the tough right-hander Son went 6-for-6 in saves, hitting 16 batters while allowing just one run (0.84 ERA). You may also have heard of his silent songs becoming Queens summer hits.
Clase is a flamethrower himself, he converted all of them this month Seven saves and a 0.79 ERA and 12 K in 11 1/3 innings with no walks. After first receiving the award last August, Clase took home the June honor this season.
