Dodgers: Fans react to Chris Taylor Award news

Dodgers all-rounder Chris “Utilities Man” Taylor is one of five finalists for the Silver Bar for the Utility Position. The Silver Bar award is given to the best offensive player at each position and is voted on by coaches and managers of the respective leagues.

Silver Rod Awards will be presented on the MLB Network on November 10th.

This is the first time a player has been rewarded for playing a different position throughout the year.

Since joining the Dodgers in 2016, Chris Taylor has been a top utility man for the Dodgers. However, his 2022 season has been a memorable one, and fans aren’t shy about sharing their thoughts on the CT3 finalists.

Taylor’s 2022 season was filled with injuries and constant strikeouts. Injuries to the neck, foot and knee kept CT3 from reaching its full potential and making a significant contribution to the Blue Boys.

I’m surprised Taylor is an Offensive Award finalist. Taylor has had a sluggish year, with his numbers down slightly from 2021.

From 2021 to 2022, Taylor is hitting 105 fewer at-bats and his strikeout total is nearly the same. He has 167 points in 2021 and ends with 160 in 2022, but the number of ABs is much less.

That’s a staggering number for someone who made a lot of money in the offseason.

Still, being a finalist for the Silver Stick Award is a huge achievement. The Dodgers’ six finalists are incredible.
