CNNanchorDon Lemon held a staff meeting on Friday for a call to former South Carolina Governor and 2023 Presidential candidate Nikki Haley is past her prime.
Lemon took a day off from
CNN this morning on Friday – originally scheduled for Thursday A break before Dust aired — but apologized to colleagues on the news network’s daily editorial call. He acknowledged his inappropriate use of words and said he spoke out against sexism and racism, sources said. He also thanked his female colleagues. (TMZ first reported that Lemon apologized on the phone.)
His Friday apology came after saying 51 years old The day after Haley announced her candidacy for the Republican presidential nomination, Haley wasn’t “in her prime,” saying any politician over her age should be tested for mental ability 40 — This applies to both President Joe Biden and Republican candidate Donald Trump.
“Nikki Haley wasn’t in her prime, sorry,” Lemon said on Thursday’s show. “A woman in 16 and 40 maybe 2023 s. If you google ” When is a woman’s prime”, it will say 20s, 30sand40s.”
Lemon’s comments visibly angered co-anchor Poppy Harlow, who challenged Lemon’s comments on air. He didn’t ask them back during the show, but tweeted late Thursday that his reference to a woman’s puberty was “stupid and irrelevant.”

Lemons and Collins crossed paths earlier this month when Lemons appeared to criticize Collins’ interview with House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-D.). The two also reportedly had an off-court altercation in December.
