At Shou Sugi Ban House in Water Mill, fashion and beauty connoisseurs came together Thursday night to celebrate the launch of Dr. Barbara Sturm’s storefront on Amazon through its Luxury Stores. The serenity of the hotel allows guests to enjoy moments of tranquility, but there’s a lot to do in the evening – Sturm’s glittering Oscar de la Renta mini dress is just the beginning.
Sturm welcomes attendees, Sally Singer ( Vogue alum turned head of fashion direction at Amazon) and Kate Hudson for courtyard cocktails meeting. The event featured a well-curated panel that included host dears: Stella McCartney, Aurora James, Laura Kim, Cynthia Rowley and Katie Couric, to name a few.
For Sturm, time is the ultimate luxury; her philosophy is that anyone should be able to incorporate wellness into their lifestyle – so Amazon’s ubiquity will only help support this an idea. “I always have the interests of my patients at heart,” Sturm told Vogue. “So the ultimate service for my patients is accessibility.” What’s more, in addition to what Amazon offers now, Sturm has created educational content through Alexa’s virtual assistant technology that will help inform Skincare regimens and treatments for clients. “This The partnership is an absolute dream,” Singh noted on Amazon’s luxury store. “I think when I arrived, we just wanted to work with Sturm.” She explained the idea that customers should be able to quickly and efficiently replenish their favorite items anywhere.
At sunset, attendees headed down cobblestone paths to an idyllic poolside candlelit dinner. Guests like Sofia Hublitz, Tabitha Simmons and Pritika Swarup dine and dine on an anti-inflammatory menu curated by Chef Mads Refslund, from striped bass to endive salad and mushroom escabeche. Halfway through, Sturm and Singer stood and cheered – thanking the guests not only for attending the dinner, but for their support of both brands. Finally, Sturm is eager to get the party started. “Cheers everyone! One more drink, because we’re going to dance!” she thought thoughtfully. And just like that, the guests mingled and danced to a series of upbeat tunes played by Zuri Marley.
