Timmy! Zendaya! Florence! Austin! Can you tell we’re looking forward to Dune: Part Two? The Denis Villeneuve-directed movie doesn’t come out until March, but events and screenings in anticipation of its premiere abound—all complete with a heavy dose of fashion. Last night, the cast made their latest red carpet stop in Mexico City, where Zendaya and Florence Pugh both opted for sleek, minimal looks in unexpected textures. Timothée Chalamet’s more than held his own alongside them in a pristine Prada tailoring.
Chalamet’s Prada look was a little more contemporary and forward-thinking than the traditional suit; it was all in the styling. The actor tucked his buttoned-up gray jacket into his dress pants, then double-belted them with a big Prada logo buckle. He also forwent a classic dress shirt in favor of a modern collarless style, and rolled up his jacket sleeves to reveal the top underneath. His shoes were another focal point: heeled boots—a Chalamet favorite and a smart alternative to a classic oxford.
This latest Prada moment is a continuation of the many fashions wins the Dune: Part Two cast has been earning during the press tour. Earlier this week, Zendaya gave an emerging London-based designer a splashy red carpet debut in Mexico City; At the same event, Florence Pugh sparkled in a futuristic dress from Torishéju. Chalamet and Butler, meanwhile, have been slipping into contemporary dressy looks. This week, Chalamet wore a leather cowl-neck top from Hermès while Butler donned a gray collarless suit. The film may be action-packed, but we’d argue that the step and repeats are an even bigger thrill. And to that we say: Keep ’em coming.
