ECB to raise interest rates by 50 basis points in February and March, Knott says

AMSTERDAM (Reuters) – The European Central Bank (ECB) is set to raise interest rates by 50 basis points in February and March and will continue to do so in the coming months, with Europe Central bank board member Klaas Knot said in an interview with Dutch broadcaster WNL on Sunday. Knott said steps will be taken in May and June.

“At some point, of course, the risks around the inflation outlook will become more balanced,” he said.

“That’s also when we can go further down from the 50 to the 50 basis point, for example…but we’re nowhere near that.”
