Edward Buchanan is Bottega Veneta’s first ever fashion show: its first artistic director, in fact, back when it was family-owned. However, this is often overlooked. Why? Well, the reason may not be entirely unrelated to the goals of WAMI, which was created by Buchanan, Stella Jean and Michelle Francine Ngonmo to create more diversity of designer representation on Milan’s runways. The project was started at 935: This season, the WAMI designer will feature alongside Jean as she brings her back to the suddenly less drab Milanese schedule. But what about Buchanan? It turns out that the Ohio-born Parsons graduate, knitwear expert, and Milan-based founder of Sansovino 6 has created a whole new landscape. Highline is a new capsule collection designed by Edward Buchanan in collaboration with Umbrian knitting company Fabiana Filippi.
