Frameline’s 1997 festival lineup includes new Pixar movies Elements, starring Ayo Edebiri and Rachel SennottBottoms, showing Chasing Amy and its new reflection document, Chasing Chasing Amy, with Billy Porter and Luke Evans Our Son.
The 47 San Francisco International LGBTQ+ Film Festival opens June12-16 will be showing 90 closeup and shorts 16 in June11 and the first few days of the virtual encore are offered between July 2. This includes the 12 world, North American and Nine U.S. Premieres, Opening Night Movies Fairyland is Andrew Durham Based on the memoir of Alysia Abbott, producer Sofia Coppola will appear.

Other major screenings at this year’s festival include an all-ages free matinee of Pixar’s latest film Elemental in June Released in the United States . Queer High School Comedy Bottoms – starring Edebiri of The Bear and Bodies Bodies Bodies‘ Sennott — also scheduled to screen at Frameline47 where Shiva Baby‘s Emma Seligman directed this film about two girls who start a school fight club.
And the long-awaited YA big screen adaptation Aristotle and Dante discover the secrets of the universe . Directed by Aitch Alberto, the story follows two Mexican-American teens, Aristotle and Dante, as they explore, through their burgeoning friendship, their growing-up struggles with racial identity and sexuality in later life The Struggle of Questions -’90s Texas.
The Porter and Evans- led Our Son about the lives of a gay couple on the brink of divorce and facing a custody battle over their 8-year-old son will be released in Tribe After the premiere at the Card Film Festival. Meanwhile, Theater Camp , which debuted at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, follows a group of camp workers who band together to save their theater camp after its owner The story ends up in a coma, and her “crypto brother” son takes over, who will do the screening. Another festive pairing is Lea DeLaria, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson, Peppermint and Ming-Na Wen-starrer Glitter & Doom , a part The musical traces a budding romance between a young musician and a feisty circus kid, set to a score from The Indigo Girls. Fans of the folk-rock duo can also watch a documentary about the musician by Alexandria Bombach during It’s Only Life After All festival.
All of this will be screened with a subtitled screening Cora Bora, directed by Hannah Pearl and featuring Hacks actor Megan Megan Stalter, and Jordan Danger’s Pride Kickoff movie God Save the Queens , drag icon Alaska to perform at Oasis’ after-film party .
“Frameline47 is eclectic. Like no Just like there is no single queer or trans narrative, LGBTQ+ films don’t have a single look,” Madsen said. “Instead, we’re excited to share many stories in June.”
This year’s Frameline Festival will feature at the historic Castro Theater as well as Roxie, CinemaSF’s Balboa Theatre, Four Star Theatre, Vogue Theater and Oakland’s New Parkway Theatre. Festival returns to East Bay with first-ever Oakland Opening Night & Center Films, and Center Films after Fluid Party 90 .
