Jalen Thomas Brooks, best known for his appearance on The CW’s Walker , and Nell Verlaque is a regular on the Disney+ series Big Shot, starring in the Spyglass-produced Roth horror thriller.

The plot details are thin, although it’s about a slasher who comes to a small Massachusetts town to “make Thanksgiving carving boards out of the town’s inhabitants, ’” according to sources.

Sources say the feature will have a large cast, and Roth is looking for up-and-coming actors with many young adults who are likely to end up on the dinner plate. Rae is a supporting character and Dempsey is a pivotal one.
Brooks and Verlaque will ostensibly lead the cast, possibly spelling their doom, although as any good horror fan knows, chances of leadership are limited in horror movies. Survival in the film is always uncertain, especially when Roth is behind the camera.
However, Brooks and Verlaque may have a great chance here, as being the lead in a horror movie is a springboard to something bigger is a time-honored Hollywood tradition. From Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street to Scream and I know what you did last summer, certain actors have gone from dead meat to quality meat.

Verlaque appeared in both seasons of Big Shot , starring John Stamos, David E. Kelly co-created the high school basketball drama. She previously starred in the Lifetime film Small Town Secret
and on the Amblin TV/CBS series Bull . She is a graduate of the LaGuardia Academy of Performing Arts and attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
