Emily Blunt is taking a break from the big screen.
During an appearance on Bruce Bozzi’s iHeart podcast with Bruce Bozzi Dinner for Two , the A-lister opened up about her decision to spend more time with her kids at .
“This year, I didn’t have a job. Last year I worked a lot and my oldest child is nine, so we’re in our final year in the single digits,” she explained . Blunt has two daughters, Hazel and Violet, with her husband John Krasinski . “I just feel like, when they’re young, the cornerstone of their day is really important. It’s, ‘Can you wake me up? Are you going to drive me to school? Are you going to pick me up? Can you make me Go to bed? I just need to have some quality time around them all. I just feel it in my bones.”

Oppenheimer She is in the play As Kitty Oppenheimer, the wife of Cillian Murphy’s J. Robert Oppenheimer. Blunt, who recently starred in the limited series The Brit , has a slew of projects in the works, including David Leitch’s Brit Fall Guy with Ryan Gosling and David Yates’ Pain Hustlers vs. Chris Evans.
The latter movie is about Blunt’s character who only creates better for herself and her daughter Life ends up working in a drugstore and getting involved in a dangerous racketeering scheme. “I feel very strongly that most female characters in Hollywood generally adhere to some kind of female ideal,” she said of her
Painful Liar persona . “I keep hearing things like, ‘Is she cute?’ I like it, I don’t care if she’s cute, you know? That’s never been asked. Like, The Big Short or those in The Wolf of Wall Street , we never cared if they were likable, if they did horrible Corrupt stuff.”
In addition to spending time with her family, Blunt revealed that she happened to be sharing quality time with another person Oppenheimer co-star, Matt Damon , lives in the same Brooklyn building.
“Matt [Damon] was the nicest, most beautiful guy. Lucy was prettier – sorry, Matt. But we all became friends and then they moved to Brooke Lin, they said, “We found this amazing building. ’ Of course, we were like, ‘We’re going to live in the same building! “But Brooklyn is full of really cute, cool people, and we have dinner on Sunday nights…the kids love each other.”
Bozzi also asked Blunt about her relationship with Kara The time Sinskey spent together. “Usually in the morning. We [rescued] a very beautiful puppy. … I don’t want to get a dog, but the kids have been trying and John is willing to do it,” she noted. “I don’t mind waking up early with this puppy because it means John and I can chat in the morning and have a real conversation before the kids get up. …I love seeing things like
