Last summer Barbie was unavoidable, and Valentino hot pink was everywhere on the red carpet. Now, with the Greta Gerwig Barbie movie – starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling – in theaters in July , this trend will pick up again in the coming months.
In fact, it seems like even Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales, can’t resist candy pink this summer. The royal wore a pale pink Alexander McQueen suit to the engagement at London’s Parenting Museum, which she teamed with a matching blouse and white pumps (which have become Kate’s new summer staple payment). Finishing the look? A statement white belt with a pearl buckle is reminiscent of the kitschy accessories worn by our favorite Mattel dolls.

This isn’t the first all-pink outfit we’ve seen from Kate this week: The royal re-worn it for Monday’s visit to the Chelsea Flower Show Bubble pink Me+Em dress.
