ABC is moving into the past for its latest unscripted project.
This network is working on a new version of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, nine seasons from its inception on ABC. The new edition will be hosted by The Home Edit founders Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin, and will include Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine ( acquired Shearer and Teplin’s company in its Producer 2022).
Project ABC, also from original producer Endemol Shine North America, will be the second update for Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. HGTV airs a single season on hosted by Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Like the original show, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will provide homes in need of major repairs or rebuilds with their current There are homes. Shearer and Teplin will also work with the families to “edit every item they own, deciding what to let go and what to keep, which will equip their new home with smart systems built for success,” according to the show’s description.
Shearer and Teplin are seasoned TV hosts who hosted Get Organized With the Home Edit by Hello Sunshine) Two seasons on Netflix.
Endemol Shine North America and Hello Sunshine are in production with Walt Disney Television Alternative. Shyam Balsé (Masterchef) will produce alongside Sharon Levy, DJ Nurre and Michael Heyerman of Endemol Shine and Witherspoon, Sara Rea and Cassie of Hello Sunshine and executive producer Lambert Scaletta.
