Fans wanted Russell Westbrook to leave the Los Angeles Lakers for months, but now he has a chance via ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on his former team after joining the Los Angeles Clippers Retaliate.
After being sent from the Lakers to the Utah Jazz as part of a three-team trade, Westbrook will agree to a buyout and join their intercity rivals. Now NBA Twitter is reveling in the chance for the point guard to thrive and possibly get revenge on the Lakers :

I don’t expect the Lakers to make the playoffs, but it would be absolutely perfect for the Clippers to beat them in the playoffs 😭. There will be no greater justice

Russell Westbrook is about to get his revenge on everyone with the clip. He/PG/Kawhi is a better fit than him/Davis/Brown. I really hope the playoffs can be played, but I don’t know if the Lakers can make it

Most Lakers fans will laugh at this signing, but it’s actually a W. Westbrook will be a better fit for this team than he was with the Lakers. https://t.co/resKY6mRbp

Johnson [email protected]_James616Russ will make the playoffs, but will the Lakers? If I had to bet Russ would have the last laugh.
The Lakers and Clippers play one more regular-season matchup on April 5 in what will be a closely watched matchup.
Of course, both sides will be very concerned about the standings for the rest of the season.
The Lakers enter the All-Star Game with a 27-32 record, 13th in the Western Conference. Even with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the roster, it’s going to be tough for the team to make the playoffs.
The Clippers are currently fourth in the West with a record of 33 wins and 28 losses, although the two teams are only separated by Five games, and all could end up in the play-offs.
A potential knockout match between two Los Angeles teams, Westbrook forward and center, will be the most exciting of the year One of the unforgettable games.
