After Week 1, it’s okay to panic a little when one of your stars is struggling. We share your frustrations when the likes of Austin Ekeler, Aaron Jones, Mark Andrews, Kyle Pitts, Mike Williams, and DJ Moore don’t play well at the game. But you can’t overreact.
Now, there are situations that you should be concerned about. The Cowboys, namely Ezekiel Elliott and CeeDee Lamb, could be in trouble with Dak Prescott (thumb) out. David Montgomery, Cam Akers, Dameon Pierce and Travis Etienne aren’t looking good right now. The Patriots probably don’t have players you can trust.
But let’s see what happens in week 2. Things may change. You may regret your initial overreaction.
Going back to last year’s Week 1 with the Aaron Rodgers Saints 38-3 victory over the Packers. Rodgers was terrible in that game, passing for 133 yards without a touchdown and two interceptions. He got a fantasy point.
Do you remember what happened next? He scored at least 23 fantasy points in six straight games on his way to winning his second MVP award in a row. As Rodgers said, fantasy managers need to relax.
We know you want to win every fantasy matchup. So are we. But a game shouldn’t be your sample size, and if these concerns become a trend, we’ll see what happens in week 2. Hopefully the star you’ve been counting on this season will shine.
