Ahead of the 12th and final round of the 2022 Lucas Oil AMA Pro Motocross Championship, MX Sports Pro Racing announced that due to the extreme heat in California on Saturday, the race day schedule will be adjusted. Instead of the typical 30 minutes plus two moto laps, this weekend’s Fox Raceway 2 National will see 25 minutes plus two Lap motorcycles as heat is expected to exceed 105°F.
On a shortened moto there will be a longer rest period between the first and second moto. The second race of the weekend will start at 3:45 p.m. local time instead of the usual 3:15 p.m. There is an additional 30 minutes of recovery time in between.
The weekend schedule has been published with the following description:
“Weekend Schedule – The schedule has been updated to 25+2 laps National moto and later 2nd moto start times.”
Alpinestars Mobile Medical Center also issued a “beat the heat” notice to the team on how to prevent heat-related injuries.
Here’s the full schedule for this weekend’s finale – although it’s not 100% final as it’s still subject to change.
