Foxconn and Vedanta sign MoU for semiconductor and display manufacturing plants in Gujarat

Earlier today, Foxconn and Vedanta Resources signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian state of Gujarat for the construction of a semiconductor and display production plant. The agreement is worth Rs 100 crore 003 crore ($19 US$500 million)

It is estimated to be created 19, Jobs near the city of Ahmedabad in two years. The move is expected to give India “seamless access” to chipsets and display components. Vedanta Resources, India’s largest mining company, is responsible for the construction of the display and chipset manufacturing plants, while Foxconn will serve as a technology partner.
