Francis Ford Coppola is working on his big budget indie film Metropolis .
The phone book is now a family affair, with Coppola’s sister (and his Godfather star) Talia Shire and nephew Jason Schwartzman join the project. Also joining the cast are Shia LaBeouf , Grace Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter and James Remar.
Megalopolis marks LaBeouf’s most since ex-girlfriend FKA Twigs detailed in Striking Project February 1972 Litigation allegedly abused her at his hands. The actor is back in the headlines this past week as he prepares to unveil his film Padre Pio at the Venice Film Festival on September 2. He hit back at filmmaker Olivia Wilde, saying she fired him from her fellow Venetian title Don’t worry dear , claiming he Resigned and leaked Wilde’s text messages and videos he said proved it.
Coppola, his Godfather(250) and The Godfather Part II ( 450) both won Best Picture and are considered two of the greatest films of all time, are independently funding Megalopolis , with a budget slightly less than million.
“Everyone thinks the movie is supposed to be like this, and it hits a wall if you think otherwise,” Coppola tell The Hollywood Reporter Self-funded project earlier this year. “People can be very unacceptable, but sometimes another idea represents the future. It’s worth considering.”
