This Brian Kelly era officially kicked off Sunday at LSU, but it didn’t go as smoothly as he had hoped.
The Tigers opened their season with a 24-23 loss to the Florida Seminoles. LSU had a chance to drag the game into overtime and score a 99-yard touchdown over time. However, the extra points were blocked, giving the Seminoles the victory in a wild game.
The Tigers had a lot of trouble moving the ball, woke up late in the second half and made things work fun before. Jayden Daniels threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns and added a team-high 114 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough.
Naturally, social media exploded with comments from those who witnessed the thrilling end of Sunday’s prime-time showdown. Reactions from people, including some NFL stars and NBA superstar LeBron James.

While LSU should be applauded for the fight he showed late in Sunday’s game, this pair of Kellys came Saying it wasn’t a strong debut. The former Notre Dame head coach looked disoriented on the sidelines for much of the game, while the Tigers looked beaten against the Seminoles.
There are some positives to take away from a one-point loss, especially considering it could have been worse . LSU will build on its second-half performance starting Sunday, when the team returns to action against the South next week.
