FX and Hulu's 'Reservation Dogs' Renewed for Season 3

FX and Hulu will return to Oklahoma.

FX has moved its critically acclaimed series Reservation Dogs renewed for a third season. The show airs on Hulu, a week ahead of its second season finale in September 28.

Created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi, Reservation Dogs following a group of teenagers (Devery Jacobs , D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Lane Factor and Paulina Alexis) came of age on a Native American reservation in Oklahoma. All of the series’ regulars, writers and directors are Indigenous.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this show that my friend Taika Waititi and I created,” Harjo said in a statement. “It was born out of a conversation in Taika’s kitchen and has now entered the lives of people around the world. Love for the second season has been outstanding. Thank you FX for ordering the third season, so excited to bring you more laughter and more from Rez Love. Aaaaaah!”

Nick Grad, president of FX original programming, added, “ Book Dogs continues its extraordinary performance. Critics, fans, and awards all recognize the extraordinary power of the series created by Sterlin Harjo and Taika Waititi. FX is proud to order a third season with our partners at Hulu , which includes a fantastic cast and all the artists who provide one of the most original, engaging and entertaining shows on television.”

Reservation Dogs received near-unanimous praise,

The Hollywood Reporter Chief TV Critic Daniel Fienberg said a second season “may be currently Best TV show .” The show won an AFI and a Peabody Award, but was rejected by TV at the 2022 Emmys College ignored.

Harjo, however, told THR “The show is an award” to him: “It’s the first time, a homegrown show like this, so I can’t blame them for not nominating us. They probably don’t know what to do. They know how Dealing with Martin Short and those guys. Ted Lasso Easier to see on the Emmys stage. But Reservation Dogs …where does it fit? I wrote the writers room on a text thread saying it would be great to be nominated, but that’s okay. Don’t forget we made the best ever Show.”

Harjo and Waititi executives produced the FX Productions series with Garrett Basch.
