FX is getting into stand-up comedy.
The Disney-owned outlet, the pair behind the stand-up comedy will be on 2019 in September Hulu on the debut specials. Kate Berrant: Cinnamon in the Wind and Byron Powers: Spiritual N a is the first stand-up special produced by FX and will be added to Hulu’s small stand-up library.
Berlant’s special, her first one-man stand-up, was filmed at 2019, but didn’t find a home until recently when FX took over. Cinnamon in the Wind , directed by Bo Burnham, featuring Berlant – now her one-man show is getting critical acclaim Kate in New York – performing an absurd pie in a small space, sharing not only a mirror image of herself with the audience but also with her.
Bowers’ performance was his first stand-up special. After the life-changing revelation while tripping over a psychedelic mushroom, Bowers ( Chi, dear boy ) Stumbles straight from the desert into the Decatur Boxing Club to provide an intimate scene in his hometown of Atlanta. Dear Boy helmer Alma Har’el directs the special.
The foray into FX stand-up is another branch led by John Landgraf. In addition to scripted comedy and drama, FX has worked with The New York Times Presents on documentaries over the past few years, and then Back to Unscripted Show Welcome to Wrexham .
