Galaxy Quest is the best Star Trek movie ever made. I’m not trying to start an argument here. This isn’t the case with Picard vs. Kirk. It’s just a fact. There have been manyStar Trekmovies, but none have managed to combine the whimsy of the franchise with the action and grand scale of the films and the galactic exploration.

But now Paramount, with the addition of The Land Of All Things Star Trek, is looking to adapt this movie for TV… so if you’re interested in it Confused about the relationship with the franchise that inspired it, I can understand it. Deadline reports that the series is still in the early stages of development, so don’t get too excited about anyone swearing by Grabthar’s Hammer.
Many places are considering a TV adaptation, including Amazon Prime. The original plan was for the cast to return to their roles, but that seemed to chill the conversation after the death of Alan Rickman in 2016.
It’s unclear if this new series will carry over from the original characters, reforge them, or create an entirely new set of characters to follow. Really, all we know is that Paramount Plus apparently loves space shows about a bunch of idiots exploring the galaxy and getting into a fun sci-fi binge. Honestly? identical.
