Gap, Kanye West slammed for displaying outfits in giant trash bags in store

Kanye West and his clothing label YEEZY have had multiple collaborations with established fashion brands, but those collaborations have not been without drama — including his recent spat with Adidas, where he claims they used a retail holiday without him allowed to have the same name as him.

Now West’s newest partner Yeezy Gap is being roasted online for reportedly demanding unorthodox ways of selling the items in-store.

Gap retail store photos and videos of merchandise appearing to be sold in what can only be described as a huge garbage bag, thrown in the middle of the retail store with the clothes inside not even folded or sized or Arrangement of styles.

“This is what they look like selling Yeezy GAP,” one Twitter user explained above one of the photos. “The sales clerk said Ye was angry when he saw them hanging it on a hanger, that’s what he wanted. They won’t help you find your size either, you just have to dig everything.”

First announced in 2020, the Yeezy Gap collaboration consists of basics and accessories well beyond Gap’s usual price point, but well below Balenciaga, with products ranging from $60 (baseball caps, seamless vests) ) to $340 (coats, parkas).

The collaboration started last month in store in Times Square, Gap’s flagship storefront was remodeled to Ye’s liking, representing the essence of the collection

“Gap’s The Times Square flagship store has been redesigned and distilled into Yeezy Gap’s most essential form, inspired by Balenciaga’s vision for utilitarian design,” Gap said in a statement at the time.

Entrepreneur has contacted Gap for clarification regarding A retail plan that sells the collection.

The gap was down nearly 59% year over year as of Wednesday afternoon.
