Li’s brother-in-law Arthur presided over the wedding. “We wanted someone we knew to officiate, and I wanted someone who could give Matt some advice on what it means to be married to Kawano Suliawan,” Rei said. “Arthur is a fantastic public speaker, and his delivery is fantastic – personal, lighthearted, fun – which is exactly what we were looking for.”

After the ceremony, everyone moved to Cham Garden for a cocktail and reception. As guests arrive in a garden covered in a sea of candles, brisk jazz plays, and Proctor’s vision for the reception tent is flawless. “She understood that I wanted a clean, elegant look,” says Rei. “She designed an amazing tent that opens on both sides and blends seamlessly with the thousands of frangipani trees surrounding the tent.”

During dinner, the speech cake was delivered before the ribbon-cutting of the newlyweds, and Rei changed into a custom mesh dress by Indonesian designer Maison Met for the first dance . “Matt and I take dance lessons at a studio in Los Angeles and practice every weekend, but we’re still nervous!” Ray admits. “We danced to ‘You Make My Dreams Come True’ by Hall & Oates, one of my favorite songs. We made a few mistakes, but Matt did a great job of leading me – as we Fireworks go off high above the frangipani trees for the last swim.”
