Dr Helmut Marko has revealed that Pierre Gasly will leave Red Bull “freely” after 2023.
Frenchman Gasly, 26, has been pushing for Red Bull to re-promote him from second team Alpha Tauri – but energy drink-owned stables have confirmed he will stay in 2023 .
“We have a good relationship,” Marco was quoted as saying by the French edition of motorsport.com.
“He has had a lot of success as a leader with Alpha Tauri in recent years. But Yuki (Tsunoda) has reached his level in lap times and races.
“Anyway, we improved Gasly’s contract financially, although we shouldn’t have,” added the 79-year-old Austrian. “Perez’s contract means he (Gasly) cannot Going to Red Bull in 2023.
“From 2024, he is free,” said Marko.
