Gerald Castillo, veteran character actor who played AC Slater’s father to Mario Lopez on the NBC sitcom *) Rescued by Bell, dead. He is 60.

(1989), Delta Force 2: Colombian Ties (1989), State of emergency (1992) and no suspense (1992). He often plays the tough guy.

In semi-retirement, Castillo worked in theaters in Los Angeles and at the Santa Paula Theater in Ventura County. He was known as “a charismatic and insightful director who would jingle while thinking about a scene and jump on stage to fix a blockage or whisper in an actor’s ear,” said his wife.
Castillo moved to Houston with his wife a year later after being cast on screen by 1995.
Survivors also include his grandsons, Brian and Stephanie, and great-grandchildren, Allen and Bernie. His daughter Lisa from his first marriage died last year.
