Google announces migration of Assistant and Calendar reminders to Tasks

The Google Assistant has already been able to store reminders for you. It will remind you at specific times you request, and these reminders can be set to repeat after a set interval. Google Tasks, which came out later, offered the same functionality, but it made it difficult to keep track of all your reminders.

In the latest entry on its blog, Keyword , Google announced that it is preparing to add all users’ Reminder to migrate to Google Tasks. Reminders created on the Google Assistant and Google Calendar will soon all be directed to the Google Tasks app, where they can be viewed, organized, and managed.

Google reminds us that we can create tasks from incoming messages In Gmail, you can add tasks from Google Chat, or you can create tasks using Google Calendar. This applies whether you’re using the web-based version of Google services or the mobile app.

When you create a new reminder with Google Assistant “in the next few months”, you’ll see a pop-up notification on your phone or computer telling you to set Google Tasks. If you haven’t moved your Google Assistant reminders to Tasks, your reminders will be moved to Tasks at this time.

Google Tasks is available through Gmail, Calendar, Chat or Google Drive on the desktop or using the Google Tasks app on iOS and Android.
